    EISTEDDFOD GADEIRIOL LLADUDOCH – ST. DOGMAELS CHAIR EISTEDDFOD.

    1988 – The first annual event was held in February at the Neuadd Goffa/Memorial Hall. Support came from Wyn Rees (B. V. Rees & Son), Terwyn Tomos (Chairman), Jean Walters, Cecil Williams; Mair Evans; Alun Williams and Melrose Thomas (Treasurer).

    1989 – The event was held on 25th February 1989 at the Memorial Hall.Dewi James, Berwyn, was the Honorary President. Conductors – Rev. Dafydd Edwards; Rev. Eric Williams; Mrs Mair Garnon-James; Mr. Jon M Jones. Accompanist – Mrs. Margaret Rhys, Dinas. Judges – Music – Mrs. Eilir Thomas, Llandisilio; Literature & Recitation – Mr. Gwynfi Jenkins, Cardigan; Art/Photography – Aneurin Jones, Cardigan; Sewing/Knitting – Mrs. Agnes Jones, Pontgarreg; Woodwork – Mr. Elfed Lewis, Brynberian; Light Entertainment – Rev. Alwyn Daniel, Dinas. The Committe Members were: Chairman – Mr. Terwyn Tomos, Gwynfa, St. Dogmaels; Vice-Chair – Blodwen Sambrook-James, Cardigan; Secretary – Miss Meinir Garnon-James, Bell-View, St. Dogmaels; Treasurer – Mrs. Melrose Thomas, Dychwelfa, St. Dogmaels. The literature section cup was provided by John & Maureen Brown, Siop-y-Sgwar, St. Dogmaels

    1990 – The event was held on 24th February 1990 at the Memorial Hall. Miss Mair Evans, Arosfa, was the Honorary President.  The conductors and accompanist were the same as the previous year. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mrs. Blodwen Sambrook James; Vice-Chair – Alun Jones, Ardwyn, Cwm, St. Dogmaels; Secretary – Terwyn Tomos; Treasurer – Mrs. Melrose Thomas.

    1991 – The event was held on 23rd February 1991 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Gwyndaf Williams, Cardigan. The conductors and accompanist were the same as the previous years. The Committee Members were: Chairman: H. Alun Jones; Vice-Chair – Mrs. Mair Garnon-James, Bell-View, St. Dogmaels; Secretary – Terwyn Tomos; Treasurer – Melrose Thomas. The Bardic Chair was made by John Clarke, Manian Fawr. Mr. T. Gwynn Jones of Carmarthen won the Chair. Osian Maelgwn of Bow Street, Aberystwyth, won the youth literary award.

    1992 – The event was held on 29th February 1992 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Granville John, Crymych. The conductors and accompanist were the same as in previous years. The Committee Members were the same as the previous year. The Bardic Chair was won by Rev. D. J. Thomas.

    1993 –

    1994 – The event was held on 26th February 1994 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Jon M. Jones of Llangrannog. The same conductors and accompanist were present as in previous years. The Committee Members were the same as the previous event, with the addition of Assistant Secretary Mrs. Marian Jones, Ardwyn, Cwm, St. Dogmaels. Mr. Emyr Lewis, Craigcefnparc, won the Bardic Chair.

    1995 – The event was held in February 1995 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Ian Gollop, Sherwood House, St. Dogmaels. The conductors were Rev. Dafydd Edwards; Rev. Eric Rhys Williams; Mrs. Mair Garnon-James; and Mr. Terwyn Tomos. Mr. Reg Smart won the Bardic Chair.

    1996 – The event was held on 17th February 1996 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Emrys Jones, Blaenannerch. The conductors were the same as in 1995 and Margaret Rhys of Newport was the accompanist. The Committe Members were: Chair – Mrs. Mair Garnon-James; Secretaries – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Mrs. Marian Jones; Treasurer – Mrs. Melrose Thomas. Mr. Reggie Smart won the Bardic Chair for the second consecutive year.

    1997 – The event was held on 22nd February 1997 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Dr. Roger Cole, Cardigan. The conductors were the same as the previous year. Miss Meinir Angharad Jones of Cardigan was the accompanist. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mrs. Eurwen Jones, Hawddamor, Cwm, St. Dogmaels; and secretaries and treasurer as 1996.

    1998 – The event was held on 28th February 1998 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Harri James of Aberystwyth. The conductors and accompanist were the same as in 1997. The Committee Members were the same except for the Chairman – this year Rev. Eric Rhys Williams occupied the chair. Dai Jones of Sarnau won the Bardic Chair.

    1999 – The event was held on 27th February 1999 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Wyn Rees, Abbey Garage. The conductors were: Rev. Dafydd H. Edwards; Mr. Aled Davies; Mrs. Mair Garnon-James; Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Miss Angharad Thomas; Mr. Rhys Davies. Mrs. Margaret Rees of Dinas was the accompanist. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Secretary – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies, Blaenplwyf, Mwtshwr, St. Dogmaels.

    2000 – The event was held on 19th February 2000 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mrs. Rhian Thomas, Penarth. The conductors were: Rev. Dafydd H. Edwards; Mrs. Mair Garnon-James; Mr. Terwyn Tomos and Mr. Aled Davies. The accompanist was Mr. Geraint Rees, Llandyfaelog. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Secretary – Mrs. Marion Jones; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies.

    2001 – The event was held on 17th February 2001 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Hugh Gwynne of Criccieth. The conductors were: Mrs. Mair Garnon-James; Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Mr. Aled Davies and Mr. Terence Lloyd. Accompanists were Mrs Lynne James, Newcastle-Emlyn; and Mr. Allan Fewster, Llangennech. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Vice-Chair – Mr. H. Alun Jones; Secretary – Mrs. Marian Jones; and Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair (by Jon & John Clarke, Manian Fawr) was won by Hilma Lloyd Edwards, Pont Newydd, Caernarfon.

    2002 – The event was held on 23rd February 2002 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mrs. Eiry Ladd Lewis, Newport. The conductors were: Mair Garnon-James; Melrose Thomas; Terwyn Tomos; Aled Davies and Rev. Dafydd H. Edwards. The accompanist was Mr. Terence Lloyd. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. H. Alun Jones; Vice-Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Marian Jones; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair (by Jon & John Clarke, Manian Fawr) was again won by Hilma Lloyd Edwards.

    2003 – The event was held on 8th February 2003 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Arfon Griffiths, Llanuwchllyn. The conductors were: Mair Garnon-James; Melrose Thomas; Terwyn Tomos; Aled Davies and Miss Llinos Davies. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. H. Alun Jones; Vice-Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Marian Jones; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair was won by J. Beynon Phillips of Brechfa.

    2004 – The event was held on 22nd May 2004 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Dr. Keith Phillips, Carmarthen. The conductors were: Mair Garnon-James; Melrose Thomas; Terwyn Tomos; Aled Davies and Miss Llinos Davies. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies.

    2005 – The event was held on 21st May 2005 at the Memorial Hall. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas. The Bardic Chair was won by Mr. Terwyn Tomos. 

    2006 – The event was held on 20th May 2006 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mrs. Eira Harris, Abercuch. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair was won by Gwen Jones of Newcastle Emlyn.

    2007 – The event was held on 19th May 2007 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Miss Heledd Griffiths, Carmarthen. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair was won by Geraint Roberts of Cwmffrwd, Carmarthen.

    2008 – The event was held on 17th May 2008 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mrs. Joy Glyn, Cardiff. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies.

    2009 – The event was held on 16th May 2009 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Cecil Williams, Cardigan. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies. The Bardic Chair was won by J Beynon Phillips of Carmarthen.

    2010 – The event was held on 15th May 2010 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Bristol. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretary – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Treasurer – Mr. Eifion Davies.

    2011 – The event was held on 21st May 2011 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Stephen Davies, Cilycoed. The accompanist was Mr. Wyn Hyland, Cardigan & London. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Terwyn Tomos; Secretaries – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Mrs. Llinos Devonald, St. Dogmaels; Treasurer – Mr. Geraint Volk, Clawddcam, St. Dogmaels. The winner of the Bardic Chair was Aled Evans of Llangynnor.

    2012 – The event was held on 19th May 2012 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. John F. Rees, Pantygalchfa, St. Dogmaels. The accompanist was Mr. Iwan Davies, St. Dogmaels. The Committee Members were: Chair – Mr. Geraint James, Tredryssi Fawr, Newport; Secretaries – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Mrs. Llinos Devonald, St. Dogmaels; Treasurer – Mr. Geraint Volk, Clawddcam, St. Dogmaels.

    2013 – The event was held on 18th May 2013 at the Memorial Hall. The Honorary President was Mr. Henry George, Cwmffrwd, Carmarthen. The accompanist was Mr. Iwan Davies, St. Dogmaels & London. The Committee Members were: Secretaries – Mrs. Melrose Thomas; Mrs. Llinos Devonald, St. Dogmaels; Treasurer – Mr. Geraint Volk.
